The Education Bureau has launched professional training for primary and secondary school teachers in programming and artificial intelligence (AI)

In line with the Chief Executive's 2022 Policy Address, the Education Bureau is actively promoting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and the popularization of innovation and technology education in primary and secondary schools. The aim is to enhance students' interest and abilities in learning information technology and innovative technologies. The Education Bureau is continuously incorporating elements of innovation and technology into the curriculum of primary and secondary schools. It is also developing "Primary School Enriched Program in Programming Education Modules" and "Secondary School Artificial Intelligence Curriculum Modules."

The curriculum modules are based on the "Jockey Club Computational Thinking Education" program and the "CUHK Jockey Club 'Smart' for the Future Program," which are planned and supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The curriculum modules have been adapted from the educational materials of these two programs.
